Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa, located 9.2 miles from Bath, is a 18th-century Palladian mansion on 500 acres of breathtaking land, walking through the garden, we felt glamorous and like royalty. We could definitely get used to living here… 😉
Complementing the setting, the food here was exquisite and the service was great – although when we had enquired about the history of the hotel, we were met with a lot of blank faces. Considering this was not their forte, it was understandable. In an attempt to assist, the head waiter had swiftly rushed out the room and re-entered with a brochure detailing the building’s story.
One of the standout dishes was the Roast Scottish diver scallops – so well cooked, it was moist and just melted away as it entered the mouth, and was texturally contrasted well with the pork croquette. Everything on that plate belonged, creating an explosion of textures and flavours in the mouth.
As cheese fans, when our waiter arrived with a trolley filled with cheese, we were delighted and wanted to try every single one! Unfortunately, we were only allowed to choose 5. All cheeses were very pungent.
Overall, definitely a memorable experience worth trying for a special occasion.
